Demographics

We collect demographic data from volunteers to help us to ensure our activities are effective, inclusive, and representative of the community we work in. The data allows us to make opportunities more accessible and tailor opportunities to meet the needs of a diverse range of volunteers. All data is treated confidentially in accordance with GDPR legislation.

Consent

At Bucks and East Berkshire Mind we value the trust you place in us as a volunteer. To respect your privacy and comply with data protection laws like the UK GDPR we ask for your explicit consent to:

- Process your data: This ensures you have control over how your personal information is handled. We collect information to enable us to work with you. We also collect demographics information which we use to help us work towards being representative of all groups of people in the community.  

- Share with third parties: We only share your information with anyone else if we believe you or someone else is at risk of harm. We will never share your information for marketing purposes. 

- Send newsletters, surveys, and event invitations: We contact volunteers with updates on our work and the impact we make. We may also contact you to invite you to social events or ask your views on things to do with Bucks Mind. You can opt in to receive these types of messages below. 

- Case studies - would you be happy for us to contact you to share your story as a volunteer with us? 

We only keep information if we really need it, we usually keep it for 6 years once you have finished with the service and we look after that information carefully.

Volunteer DBS Information

When entering a date for DBS Clearance Notification has been checked, you are verifying the contents have been checked and a risk assessment has been undertaken if necessary. 

The date the risk assessment has been signed off should be entered against the DBS Risk Assessment completed field. A copy of the Risk Assessment should retained in the Volunteer's media records.
